The City Council’s Municipal policing is towards maintaining order, security, and sanitation to ensuring safety and convenient passages through streets, public squares and roads within Bamenda City without interfering in the sphere of influence of state police officers such as investing crimes or arresting criminals.
Providing safe and convenient passage in streets, wharfs, public squares and routes, notably the cleaning, lighting, removal of observations, demolition or renovation of building falling in ruins, prohibiting from placing on windows or on any part of building any object that may cause damage or produce harmful exhalations
The means of transporting deceased persons, interment and exhumation, maintenance of order and decency in cemeteries, without anybody being authorized to make epitaphs or special write ups stating the circumstances of the death;
Prevention, through appropriate precautionary measure and intervention, through the provision of required assistance, in case of accident and calamity such as fire accidents, floods and other natural disasters, epidemies and contagious diseases, epizooties, the implementation of emergency safety, assistance and relief measures and where necessary, seeking the intervention of the representative of the state to whom a report on the measures prescribed shall be presented
